| Author Bio | Tatiana Popova is a Ukrainian embroiderer. She learnt to stitch at an early age, inspired by her mother and grandmother's embroidery, and for a time she pursued her passion for stitching by studying a huge variety of embroidery styles and techniques, both at school and in her own time. Tatiana studied Floristry Design at university, but soon after graduating she discovered the world of embroidery. She started her own business, Little Owl Smart Crafts Company, producing kits for silk ribbon and crewel embroidery. Tatiana participates in a number of craft shows all around the world, including the UK, USA and Japan, and annually teaches at the Bead & Button Show in the USA. | Author Bio | Shelagh Amor grew up in England, where she pursued a career in accounting before marrying and settling in Australia. Although she had taken up a needle at an early age, it wasn't until after the birth of her second child that she discovered the Embroiderers' Guild and, through it, the many facets of the art of embroidery. For Shelagh, embroidery became a passion and, with time, she developed skills in crewel embroidery. Shelagh used her skills to co-ordinate classes for the Embroiderers' Guild and to promote embroidery in her local community. From 1984 to 1986 she served as President of the Embroiderers' Guild, Victoria. In twenty years of teaching, Shelagh has established a reputation for her meticulous attention to detail and finish. |
